I left at 3 P.M. for Springfield. Stopped at Massasoit House

[May?] 19thLeft for New York by Steamer "Daniel D[?]"
down the Hudson. To Brooklyn at eve[?] to board on the heights No 1 Middagh St.

Pedigree of Old Arm Chair

I got a kick out of this old note that I found in my Holbrook/Goodhue records from Brattleboro, Vermont. Lucy Brooks Holbrook (# 7 on the list) was the sister of my grandmother, Grace Ware (Holbrook) Haskell. Now if I could only find this old chair...

Studies of Thomasso Juglaris - Emerline Mason Holbrook 1886

Here is an interesting family photo of my great grand aunt, Emerline Mason Holbrook. She was an artist and studied under Thommaso Juglaris in Boston back in the 1880's. This is a photo (actually a tin type) of her class in 1886. She is the 5th from the left in the first row. I have seen several pieces of Emerline's work and they are quite good.
