Notes: Father of Reuben Merrill and grandfather of Nathaniel Edwin Merrill. My third great-grandfather. Reuben Merrill [Sr] was born 2 Aug 1765, he married Clarissa Jones about 1794.

ReplyDeleteI was asking for help on an ebay forum about Clarissa Jones who was 14 in 1785 and was provided with some possible information found on mytrees.com indicating that Clarissa's parents may be Jabez Jones born 1739 and Mary Butler born 1750 Just thought I would pass this information on to you.
Hello, This would appear to be the same Clarissa that married Reuben Merrill. I do not have much information about her other than she was born in March 1771 and died 13 Nov 1861. Where did you find the sampler?
ReplyDeletefound it at local Phoenix AZ estate sale 15- 20 years ago. I had a feeling it was of New England origin. So, Clarissa is your third great grandmother.
